Our Mission

Share the good news

NEXTGEN is the official family resource of Manatee County, featuring local events and good news around our community. It is brought to you by the Early Learning Coalition of Manatee County, Inc (ELC). The educational and family resource magazine is distributed to the parents of 33,000 elementary school children in the Manatee County schools, with an additional 5,000 distributed to over 200 childcare facilities, libraries, medical offices, hospitals, and other business offices throughout the county.

Our Goal

A Family resource that informs, excites and generates interest in the local community!

For six years and counting, NEXTGEN continues to offer educational articles, school news, informative remarks from leading community figures, and consumer friendly articles to help guide parents on wide-ranging family topics. Additional features include restaurant reviews, kids cooking, science features, health and fitness columns, advice for parents, holiday planning, and ELC initiatives, where NEXTGEN delivers updates, news, and columns from ELC staff on what they are doing in the early learning community.

Keep your eyes out for our fantastic giveaways in each issue. You could win an iPad, family vacation to Disney, Florida Theme Park Tickets, Grapefruit League tickets to see the Pittsburgh Pirates, and much more.
